Philip L. Moncuse, of Brewster, NY, died at Danbury Hospital Center on Saturday, April 20, 2019. He was 91 years old.
Born on May 22, 1927, in Boston Corners, NY, son of the late Philip L. and Cora (Milius) Moncuse. He was a 1944 Brewster High School graduate and honorably served in the U.S. Army. In November of 1954, he married the love of his life, Florence VanDerlyn.
Mr. Moncuse worked for New York Telephone as a lineman for 33 years before retiring in 1989. Prior to enlisting in the Army, he worked for the New York Central Railroad for 13 years. Phil was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the American Legion.
Phil is survived by his children; Philip J. (Lynn) Moncuse of Morris, CT, Paul K. Moncuse of Danbury, CT, Peter M. (Patrice) Moncuse of Danbury, his 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and one on the way, and his sister, Hazel Ludington. He was predeceased by his loving wife on November 7, 2005 as well as by his daughter-in-law, Barbara Moncuse.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 10:30am at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hastings-on-the-Hudson. Interment will immediately follow. Family and friends may visit Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY, on Friday, May 3, 2019, from 4pm-7pm.

Dear Phil, Paul and Peter.
I was so sorry to hear of Uncle Phil's passing. He will be greatly missed by us.. When I was down visiting family I would always stop by wherever he was and say hello or send him pictures time to time. He loved by us all.. Thoughts and prayers to you all.
