Life Story for Joseph A. Toscano

Joseph A. Toscano, age 71 and a 35 year resident of Brewster, NY, went home to be with the Lord on July 7, 2019. He died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family and dog Morgan.

Born in New Rochelle, NY on October 8, 1947, he was the youngest of six children born to the late Joseph and Jane Toscano. He was a graduate of Mamaroneck High School.

Joe married the love of his life Dolores (Dee). He worked for Westchester County Department of Public works in Valhalla, NY for over 30 years before retiring. Joe was an active volunteer fireman since he was 16 years old, and a member of the Brewster Fire Department for over 30 years acting as a current Commissioner and served as past Chief.

Joe was an avid sports fan but especially enjoyed watching the Yankees and Giants from the comfort of his favorite recliner chair with his dog by his side. Joe loved the outdoors including working in his yard and taking his daily 3 mile walks. He also enjoyed working out. Most of all, Joe, loved spending time with his grandsons and family. He was a long time active member of the Mission Church and served as an Usher for many years.

In addition to his loving wife, Joe leaves behind his son Ron Toscano and beloved twin grandsons; James and Thomas Toscano, his sisters; Angelina Caldwell, Joan Ibelli, Theresa Toscano, and Diane Toscano; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Margaret Mignarri.

A funeral service will be held at the Mission Church, 4101 Route 52, Holmes, NY on Friday July 12th at 10am. Interment will follow at St.

Mary’s Cemetery, Rye Brook, NY. The family will welcome friends on Thursday, July 11th at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY from 4pm-8pm with a Fire Department service at 7pm.
