Larkin, Joanna F., in Bennington, Vermont on October 6, 2019 after an extended hospitalization.

Born on September 30th 1917, to Marion (Evans) and Thomas Fenaughty in Brewster, NY where she resided the majority of her life. She was a proud graduate of Syracuse University (both her mother and sister were also Syracuse graduates) notwithstanding the country was mired in the Great Depression. She began a career as a social worker in Putnam County for several years before marrying John F. Larkin, Jr. in 1940, who predeceased her in 1994.

She worked in the Brewster Town Clerk’s office and Guidepost as well as some family businesses. She was an active parishioner at Saint Lawrence O’Toole, volunteering for years in various capacities at the Rectory. She was a longtime active supporter of the local chapter of the Catholic Daughters. In her middle years she engaged in a long-running social bridge game with friends (wine was served). From her middle years on, she did winter in Port Charlotte, Florida where she had many loyal friendships and where the happy hour began at 4:00pm.

She is survived by a son, John (Deborah), a brother, Thomas of New York City, two
grandchildren, (Matthew of Warren VT. and Margaret of Arlington VA.) as well two great
grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.

Visitation will begin at 9:00AM at the Beecher Funeral Home in Brewster followed by a mass of the Christian burial at St Lawrence O’Toole Church commencing at 11:00. After Mass internment will be in the St Lawrence cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to St. Lawrence O’Toole.
